Introduction

A diagnosis of pancreatic cancer can feel overwhelming, bringing fear, uncertainty, and countless questions for patients and their loved ones. While no two experiences are exactly alike, hearing directly from those who have walked this path can offer comfort, insight, and hope at a time when it is most needed.

Our Patient Perspective series shares honest, first-hand stories from people living with pancreatic cancer. Through their voices, we highlight the realities of navigating diagnosis, treatment decisions, side effects, emotional challenges, and daily life after treatment. These accounts not only remind us that behind every statistic is an individual — with a story worth hearing, but also inspire us with the strength and resilience that so many people draw on when facing this disease.

This series is created in collaboration with the Elizabeth Coteman Fund for patients, carers, families, and anyone wanting to better understand the human side of pancreatic cancer. We hope these stories provide reassurance that you are not alone, practical wisdom to help you feel more informed, and encouragement to ask questions, seek support, and stay hopeful for the best possible outcomes.
