Izzy Turbin is a Principal Genetic Counsellor in the Clinical Genetics team at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, part of the East Anglian Medical Genetics Service.
Izzy trained as a genetic counsellor at Addenbrooke’s Hospital through the Scientist Training Programme (STP), completing the programme in September 2020. The Clinical Genetics team see a variety of genetics referrals, including cancer, cardiac, endocrine, neurological and prenatal, and hereditary cancer syndromes make up a large proportion of referrals seen by the genetic counselling team. As well as clinical work, Izzy is responsible for education and teaching in the department, including of trainees, students, and other healthcare professionals. Izzy is also part of the UK Cancer Genetics Group social media & communication sub-committee, providing a monthly cancer journal summary to the UKCGG membership amongst other things.
