First three students from the Pancreatic Cancer UK Future Leaders’ Academy begin their PhD studentships

Pancreatic Cancer UK has awarded a £625,000 grant to the Cambridge Pancreatic Cancer Centre / University of Cambridge. This will fund five PhD studentships over four years to investigate tumour-stromal and tumour-immune interactions in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC).

The first three students, Stela Monk, Jonathan Parker and Catarina Pelicano have now started, under the supervision of Dr Tim Halim, Prof Gerard Evan and Prof Jason Carroll respectively. A further two students will start in the Autumn.

Four of these students will be based at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and one will be located in the department of Biochemistry in central Cambridge.
